Vacancy: Multi-Professional Co-Chair, Chronic Kidney Disease Special Interest Group
The UK Kidney Association invites expressions of interest from multi-professional colleagues to co-chair the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Special Interest Group (SIG).
Working alongside the new Medical Co-Chair, you will help foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across kidney services so that CKD care is consistent, integrated and patient-centred throughout the pathway.
What the role involves
-
Shaping priorities for the CKD SIG and coordinating activity across clinical practice, service improvement, education and audit
-
Bringing the multi-professional voice together — including nursing, pharmacy, dietetics, psychology, AHPs, primary care and secondary care
-
Championing practical outputs such as shared resources, case discussions, webinars and opportunities to spread good practice
-
Connecting teams across regions and networks to support equitable care and reduce unwarranted variation
You will work closely with UKKA colleagues and the Medical Co-Chair to plan meetings, agree workstreams and keep momentum between sessions. Administrative support is provided by the UKKA Secretariat.
Who should apply
We welcome applications from kidney professionals at any seniority with:
-
A track record of collaborative working across professions or organisations
-
An interest in improving CKD pathways and reducing variation in care
-
The confidence to facilitate discussion, build consensus and turn ideas into deliverables
The UKKA is committed to inclusive leadership and encourages applications from underrepresented groups across our community.
How to apply
Please send a brief expression of interest (max 500 words) explaining your suitability and motivation to The UKKA Secretariat by Monday, 3 November 2025.
For an informal conversation about the role, contact Gavin Dreyer.
