The UK Kidney Association's Advanced Nephrology Course is one of the UK's leading educational programmes in nephrology. Held over five days in the historic surroundings of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, it brings together internationally recognised faculty and delegates from across the UK and overseas for an intensive programme of lectures, case discussions and interactive workshops.
The programme covers the breadth of contemporary nephrology, from CKD, transplantation and dialysis to glomerular disease, genetics, pregnancy, AKI and rare kidney diseases. Whether you are preparing for postgraduate examinations or looking for a comprehensive clinical update, the course provides dedicated time to build confidence, explore challenging cases and discuss current practice with leaders in the specialty.
Programme highlights
The 2027 course combines expert-led lectures with practical workshops and case-based discussion.
Topics include:
- Slowing CKD progression and reducing cardiovascular risk
- Transplant assessment, rejection and immunosuppression
- Acid-base disorders, dysnatraemias and potassium problems
- Pregnancy and kidney disease
- Renal histology, vasculitis and lupus
- Polycystic kidney disease and Alport syndrome
- Peritoneal dialysis, haemodialysis and vascular access
- Glomerular disease, including FSGS, membranous nephropathy and IgA nephropathy
- AKI, genetic testing and TTP/HUS
- Amyloidosis, myeloma, renal stone disease and conservative care
Interactive sessions include workshops such as Would you transplant this kidney?, Acid Base Cases, Solving Problems in the PD Patient and Investigating TTP/HUS, alongside an expert-led glomerulonephritis symposium.
Who should attend?
The course is particularly relevant to nephrology trainees, but is also suitable for consultants, specialty doctors and other clinicians seeking an intensive clinical refresher.
Delegates attend from across the UK and internationally.
Course format
The course runs from Tuesday 5 January to Saturday 9 January 2027.
Teaching is delivered through:

The programme also includes a guided walk around Oxford, a course reception and a formal course dinner.

Registration closes on 8 December 2026 or when the course reaches capacity.
Places are limited to maintain the interactive nature of the course. Early registration is recommended.

Residential registration
Residential registration includes:
- Accommodation at Corpus Christi College in a standard single study bedroom
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner as scheduled in the programme

En suite rooms can be booked for an additional £150, subject to availability.
Double rooms are not available at the college.
Non-residential registration
Non-residential registration includes:
- Lunch and dinner as scheduled in the programme
- Refreshments throughout the course
Accommodation and breakfast are not included.
UKKA membership
UKKA members receive a substantial discount on registration.
Those who are not currently members may find that joining before registering reduces the overall cost of attending.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations received up to 30 days before the start of the course will receive a full refund.
After this date, the registration may be transferred to the 2028 Advanced Nephrology Course or transferred to a colleague nominated by the original delegate.
