We are inviting expressions of interest from colleagues across the kidney multi-professional team to become the next Multi-professional Co-Chair of the Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) Special Interest Group.

Working alongside Medical Co-Chair, Jon Murray (Consultant Nephrologist), the successful applicant will help shape national AKI priorities, strengthen collaboration across the multi-professional workforce and support improvements in care for people with or at risk of AKI. This is a chance to influence national practice, champion innovation and guide a group with a growing portfolio of impactful work.

About the AKI SIG

The AKI SIG brings together colleagues from across the kidney community with a shared aim:

To optimise care for people with or at risk of AKI across the UK, limiting avoidable harm and improving patient outcomes.

Its work spans education, data, quality improvement and governance, with recent outputs including the multi-professional report Acute Kidney Injury National Summit: Report and Recommendations, which lays out practical actions to address key challenges in AKI care. The group also leads ongoing improvement work, supports national data initiatives and works with partner organisations to strengthen AKI pathways.

The incoming Co-Chair will help steer this work, nurture collaboration and ensure the SIG continues to grow its national impact.

How to apply

Please submit a brief expression of interest (up to 500 words) outlining your experience and interest in the role.

For those who would like an informal discussion about the role before applying, Clare Morlidge is available to talk through what the position involves:
