Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to Host One-Day Collaborative Event, 'Priorities in Paediatric AKI'
Healthcare professionals, researchers and charities from across the UK are invited to attend this national event focused on advancing care and setting priorities in paediatric Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), taking place on Friday, 4 July 2025, from 10:00 to 16:00 at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool.
This free, in-person event aims to bring together a diverse community of stakeholders—including clinicians from both paediatric and adult services, academic researchers, funders, and individuals with lived experience of AKI—to engage in interdisciplinary discussion and shape the future of AKI care for children.
The day will include opportunities to:
-
Share current best practices in paediatric AKI care across the UK
-
Hear updates on ongoing research initiatives
-
Participate in collaborative discussions to identify and set national priorities for paediatric AKI
While the event centres on paediatric care, organisers strongly encourage participation from professionals working in adult AKI services, whose experience and insights will be valuable in shaping a more comprehensive approach.
The event represents a key opportunity to build ongoing collaboration, with organisers hoping it will "bring about lasting improvements in paediatric AKI care across the UK".
