Dr Jinadu Yusuf Olanrewaju new UKKA Medical Chair of International Committee

The UK Kidney Association is delighted to announce that Dr Yusuf Olanrewaju Jinadu has been appointed as the new Medical Co-Chair of the International Committee.

Dr Jinadu succeeds Professor Sunil Bhandari, whose leadership has guided the Committee’s success in recent years. Reflecting on his appointment, Dr Jinadu said:

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Professor Bhandari, whose visionary leadership has shaped the Committee’s success. It’s a privilege to build on his time chairing the Committee. Together with our dedicated members, I look forward to strengthening existing international partnerships, fostering new ones, and advancing global kidney care.”

Dr Jinadu brings extensive experience to the role. He trained in both Nigeria and the UK, with postgraduate qualifications in nephrology, general internal medicine, and organ transplantation. His career has spanned healthcare systems in different resource settings, equipping him with a unique perspective on building practical and scalable solutions in global kidney health.

In the UK, he has held leadership roles as RCP Chief Renal Registrar and contributed to the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland CKD Integrated Care Project (LUCID), embedding kidney care in the community. He also sits on the RCP Trainee Committee and the GIM Sub-Action Committee, advocating for trainees and contributing to national policy. Internationally, he has been active in education, mentorship, and collaborative projects, including support for renal trainees and centres in Nigeria.

The UKKA International Committee connects kidney professionals and organisations worldwide, fostering partnerships and supporting improvements in kidney care across all settings. Dr Jinadu’s appointment as Medical Co-Chair marks an important step in continuing this mission.
