Summary of role with a healthcare professional holding a letter

We are seeking a renal trainee to join the UKKA 'Writing to Kidney Patients' project, which aims to develop national, co-produced resources to make kidney clinic communication genuinely patient-centred rather than clinician- or GP-directed.

This is an opportunity for a trainee interested in shared decision-making, health literacy and quality improvement: the role includes contributing to baseline data collection on how units currently write to patients and which systems they use, designing and testing patient-facing letter templates, and potentially conducting patient-preference research alongside academic and primary care colleagues. It offers scope for a tangible national output, project and QI experience, and authorship.

If you would like to be considered, please submit a short expression of interest to jyoti.baharani@uhb.nhs.uk outlining any relevant experience, what you would bring, and your reasons for applying. The expectation is that this will be undertaken alongside your NTN post.
