Join us from 19:00–20:00 on Tuesday 16 June for the latest SpR webinar, "An overview of ethics and law in nephrology, from mental capacity to frontier therapies".
Dr Rebecca Thom will lead a dynamic and highly practical session using real clinical scenarios to explore the ethical and legal dilemmas that increasingly define senior nephrology practice.
The discussion will span mental capacity and best interests decisions, high-risk treatments, transplantation and emerging therapies, focusing on the grey areas where guidelines end, and judgment begins. Rebecca is a Consultant Nephrologist at Royal London Hospital with recognised expertise in ethics, law and complex decision making in kidney care.
This session is designed to support trainees preparing for consultant-level responsibility, offering clear frameworks and tools to help navigate uncertainty, defend difficult decisions and practise with confidence and compassion in the real world of nephrology!
This session forms part of the UKKA SpR Webinar Series, delivering regular, focused teaching for specialty registrars
