Voices to Vision – Help Shape the Future of Kidney Care

Join us throughout 2026 for a national series of listening events designed to gather your insights, experiences and ideas for a new Kidney Disease Strategy. Your voice matters  - whether you are a patient, family member, clinician, commissioner, industry partner or system leader.

Why Now?

Following the publication of the 10‑Year Health Plan, the kidney community is calling on the government to develop a national strategy that supports:

  • Better prevention
  • Earlier intervention
  • High‑quality, person‑centred care

Kidney care is evolving rapidly. Recent progress includes:

  • Major advances in managing early CKD and treating kidney disease alongside cardiac and metabolic conditions
  • New therapies for genetic and immune‑mediated disease
  • Growing need for improved care models for an ageing population
  • An urgent focus on tackling inequalities and health‑literacy challenges
  • accelerating medical technologies
  • WHO recognition of kidney disease as a global priority
  • A new UK government committed to modernising NHS care

To meet this moment, we need fresh thinking — shaped by the people who know kidney disease best.

About Voices to Vision

Voices to Vision is a national listening exercise taking place throughout 2026. Together, we will co‑design a community‑informed Kidney Disease Strategy and continue campaigning for government action.

The programme will focus on:

  • Defining priorities to improve kidney care and outcomes
  • Understanding challenges and variations in current services
  • Exploring new models of care and innovation
  • Informing future planning and decision‑making

The strategy will focus on children and adults in England, while ensuring voices from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are heard and included.

This initiative is supported by NHS England and leading kidney charities, including the National Kidney Federation, Kidney Care UK, Kidney Research UK, PKD Charity and the UK Kidney Association.
