This practical training day is aimed at trainees and senior nursing staff, covering in-centre haemodialysis, home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis through hands-on sessions and case-based discussion.

Morning sessions will rotate across the three modalities, covering machine circuits and alarms, home haemodialysis setup and prescribing, and peritoneal dialysis assessment and prescription adjustments. Participants will have the opportunity to work directly with dialysis equipment.

Afternoon workshops will explore clinical challenges in everyday practice, including symptom control, haemodynamic instability and fluid management. Further sessions will cover peritonitis, membrane failure, transitions between therapies and the management of home therapy programmes, including patient monitoring and adherence.

The course is delivered by a faculty of nephrologists and specialist nursing staff.
