Join us on Tuesday 23 September, 9am to 4:30pm, for an exciting event exploring the innovations for blood pressure detection and monitoring.

We are all aware of the 10 Year Plan for England and its three shifts:

  • hospital to community
  • analogue to digital
  • sickness to prevention

This event is demonstrating how these can be achieved for blood pressure management and impact cardiovascular disease risk and outcomes for patients. Technology and innovation are key for the aim of wearables and biosensors being standard in prevention, chronic and post-acute NHS treatment. The introduction of neighbourhood health centres will see the shift of care closer to home. This is your opportunity to see and hear about innovations that can support this for hypertension management.

Monitoring blood pressure is key across all aspects of the UK health system:

  • high blood pressure is the leading modifiable risk factor for heart and circulatory disease in the UK
  • an estimated 30% of adults in the UK have high blood pressure – that’s around 16 million, up to half of them are not receiving effective treatment
  • heart and circulatory diseases cause around a quarter of all deaths in the UK; that's more than 170,000 deaths a year, 480 each day – one every three minutes
  • around 50 per cent of heart attacks and strokes are associated with high blood pressure in the UK (UK Factsheet, British Heart Foundation, Jan 2025)
