Could you lead the UKKA’s work on one of the most important areas of current nephrology practice?

The UK Kidney Association (UKKA) is inviting expressions of interest for a new leadership opportunity: Integrated CKD Lead. This national role offers the chance to drive forward improvements in the recognition and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) before it leads to life-changing complications.

The post is offered for an initial term of one year, with remuneration equivalent to 1 PA per week. It is supported by 0.5 WTE project management time and the full backing of the UKKA Secretariat.

With a growing national and political focus on earlier detection and management of CKD, this is a pivotal time for the kidney community. The successful applicant will be an experienced clinician in integrated CKD care, able to lead strategic efforts across the UK to:

  • Engage Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and advocate for prioritised support

  • Define and promote key clinical roles within integrated CKD pathways

  • Educate healthcare professionals and patients on CKD identification and management

  • Use and interpret data to inform national priorities and action
