Healthcare professionals working across kidney services are invited to take part in a national survey exploring the use of GLP-1 and other incretin-based therapies in people living with obesity and chronic kidney disease, including kidney failure.
Led by Dr Adrian Brown at University College London, the survey aims to understand current practice, access pathways, barriers and challenges associated with these medications in kidney services across the UK.
As obesity management becomes an increasingly important area of kidney care, there is currently limited information on how these medications are being used within kidney services. The survey will help establish a national picture of current practice and identify areas of variation, unmet need and opportunities for future development.
The findings will be shared through publications and presentations and will help inform future discussions around obesity management within the kidney community, including areas of work and e-learning being explored by the UK Kidney Association.
The survey is open to all healthcare professionals working across the kidney multi-professional team, including those involved in dialysis, transplantation and wider kidney services.
Responses are anonymous, and the survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete
The study has been approved by the UCL Research Ethics Committee (Project ID: 16191/009).
