Patient Involvement

Getting involved in quality improvement

People living with kidney disease bring essential knowledge and experience to quality improvement. Their involvement helps KQIP and kidney services understand where care could be improved, shape changes and ensure that improvement reflects what matters to the people receiving care.

People with lived experience contribute to KQIP’s national, regional and local quality improvement work in a range of ways. You do not need previous experience of quality improvement to take part.

There are different ways to get involved:

  • Join a national insight group
  • Be a part of a regional project
  • Attend a national or regional QI event
  • Get involved in a local QI project

Hear from people involved in KQIP

People with lived experience are already contributing to KQIP projects across the UK. Hear from Rory, Harsh and Teresa about their experience of working with the Transform AKC national project and what being involved in quality improvement has meant for them.
