National Kidney Patient Survey
Understanding people’s experience of kidney care
The National Kidney Patient Survey is an annual survey of people of all ages receiving specialist kidney care in the UK. It provides a national picture of patient experience and helps kidney teams understand where care is working well and where improvements could be made.
The programme is delivered through a partnership between the UK Kidney Association and Kidney Care UK, with KQIP supporting kidney teams to use the findings to inform quality improvement.
From patient experience to improvement
The value of the survey is not simply in collecting feedback. By understanding people’s experiences of kidney care, teams can identify local priorities, explore variation and use patient experience alongside other information to shape improvements.
KQIP works to support the use of National Kidney Patient Survey findings in practice, helping teams learn from each other and share improvement work based on patient experience.
